Approval
for telecom equipment is issued by the carrier Telephone Organization
of Thailand (TOT). With privatization of the carrier services market a
new government regulator is planned to take on responsibility for
certifying equipment for use on the public networks, but formation of
that body, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has not
been completed.
